The Sliabh Luachra Music Trail works with music festivals, heritage centers and other venues to deliver a year round programme of concerts, talks, workshops and other events. We will be adding to these on a regular basis so please check back frequently.
There are many regular sessions which take place throughout the year.
The Handed Down Series in the Heritage Centre in Scartaglin, Co. Kerry is a regular event each month, starting at 8pm.
In Castleisland, Co. Kerry Browne’s Bar has a session every Tuesdays at 10pm (winter) and 9pm (summer) with Tony Halsall, Joe Lane, Dermot Schollard & Tim. There is also a session every Friday with different guests at 10pm (winter) and 9pm (summer). Kearney’s Bar hosts a session every Tuesday at 10pm with Timmy O’Connor & friends.
On Monday nights, Scully’s Bar in Newmarket, Co Cork is the place to be. Scully’s has been hosting a regular Monday night session for the last 40 years and it’s a great spot to learn a new tune. 9pm start
On Tuesday nights during the months of July and August, Bruach na Carraige Heritage Centre in Rockchapel, Co. Cork hosts a 1 hour formal show of Sliabh Luachra music, song and dance. This is followed by an informal session with audience participation. 8.30pm start
Come to Knocknagree, Co. Cork on Wednesday nights for a midweek session in The Fairfield Tavern featuring a selection of talented local musicians. 10.30pm start
