The Sliabh Luachra Music Trail is a joint initiative involving the Arts Offices of Cork and Kerry County Councils and Limerick City & County Council. Sliabh Luachra is associated with a very specific and idiomatic traditional music style and through the development of the Sliabh Luachra Music Trail we aim to celebrate this tradition. Among the objectives include a range of measures that aim to promote and preserve the region’s unique musical heritage.

- The celebration of the musical heritage of Sliabh Luachra.
- To promote cultural and creative tourism in Sliabh Luachra.
- To create opportunities for and stimulate an interest in the performance of Sliabh Luachra music.
- The development of an education programme to encourage interest and participation in Sliabh Luachra Music.
The Sliabh Luachra Music Trail involves local festival committees working together to create a year round programme of events including concerts, workshops, master classes and lectures.
